Again in Light and collor theory class, I needed to gather some blogs which talked about one specific theme ( I could choose that theme). Then, using them as base (the dominant collors, etc), the idea was to make two versions of my own...

The theme chosen was "BOOKS"... You know, blogs that talk about them... making reviews, discussions, etc...

As any blog, there are many many different stiles thad are utilized, according with the author's personal taste, etc, but I could find some patterns. Actually, three different patterns of collors were found in a more significative number. Here they are, in order, accordig to the number of blogs that attend to the pattern in question:

In third place

here we have as dominant collors the green and grey

In second place
In this case, blue is the dominant collor

First place:
And here, our winner, with its creme, brown, smooth red or pink... all hot collors.

Now, the versions I've made took in consideration characteristics from the blogs of this last pattern, the winner... And, finally, here they are...

Shura's adventures (2)

Since I liked Shura and the idea of making short comics... Here's another one!
This one doesn't have any words, so there's only one version!

Fundamentals of Collor

Here is a paper I've done for the "Light and Collor Theory" class, which was called "Fundamentas of collor"

 Here is the front cover

About collor

Collor discs

Collor grades

In order to explain contras and harmony, we had to do two representations of one image we invented, each one caracterizing the aspects of harmony, or contrast.

Composition A
Harmony, using cold collors.

Composition B
Contrast

Here is the relecture of the Sandman cover's image, that I had already posted earlier

Exemples of design products.

Shura's adventures (1).

After creating the character, we were suposed to make a short comic involving them. Something simple, like Calvin and Hobber (love it). It didn't need to have a specific number of squares, since it wasnt too long.

As before, I'll post it in both english and brasilian portuguese.

Here it is:

 First, the english version...

And here, in portuguese... ^^

Creating a Character...

Creating a Character... English Version

The idea was to create a character who would have to be based in ourselves, and would also need to have some kind of power... Then, we had to creat his/her background story, the context in which he/she lives.

So, thinking about it, I've created "Shura"

PS: There will be 2 versions of this post, one in english (this one) and another in portuguese, so anyone can read it... ^^

CONTEXT

The universe is not just one. There are infinites of them, independent but connected, each one following their own rules. And there are creatures that live for these universes. They create them, help them to develop themselves, to grow, until they are able to self-sustain and evolve infinitely.  Once it exists, a Universe can’t be erased, since one can’t erase an idea. But it can be forgotten, and that by itself would be worse than erasement. It would be obliteration, where not even the idea, the memory, is left of that that has left existence. And it is so that nothing of what has once been created – or that no one witch existence started between the limits of that universe – can ever be forgotten, that those creatures dedicate themselves for.
They are the Sky Cats.
Those “cats” live in levels between the universes, not having a definite size, so that they could be larger than an entire universe, or to fit in the smallest of them…  However, they can take shape inside their creations and even look by the eyes of their tiny doubles, the cats as we know them in this specific universe.

Many Sky cats spend their time maintaining or manipulating universes that already exists, but some of them still love to create new worlds and to watch them giving their first steps, evolving towards the infinite.

There was one of this Sky Cats witch, interacting with the beings of un universe that he had created, became known by millions of tiny voices inside more than one universe. After all, universes are connected, and what is reality in one may be only known as fiction, or never even pass through the world of ideas, in another.
That cat was Cheshire.

SHURA

Shura is a descendent of Cheshire, his granddaughter, to be more exact, and she is a sky cat creator of universes as her grandfather. She has, thought, a small, tiny… weirdness… Which makes her somehow different… She is three. Shura has 3 distinct personalities.

First, we have Shura, whose hair is light blue with suns scattered by her body, as in a sunny day.
Cheerful, extroverted, extremely talkative, she loves to discover the new, to meet others and new ideas, and to be around them. She almost doesn’t stop moving, and is always smiling, or laughing in an anything but discrete, or feminine way.

And we have the Other” Shura, which is of a darker (a bit) blue, as the sky that has just come to night, but has still light. Over her body there are moons and stars.
This is a personality that prefers to stay alone, by herself, appreciating the fluxe of ideas and senses of the worlds. Although she is more silent and closed regarding other cats around her, it is in this moment that she creates her universes at most. It’s like if, in her moments of Other Shura, the cat only lived for them, and the rest simply was not important.

At last, we have the “Mamba” Shura, her evil side. She is almost entirely black, with blue lightings crossing over here and there. The lightings are in the same blue as the hottest of flames, clasping in silent thunders of pure energy.

As any of the late two Shuras get irritated, their body starts to get covered with clouds, so that one can presume her state of mind according to the number of clouds that cover her suns or moons. When the clouds get condensed passed the point where any moon, star or sun is even visible, forming layers so dark and dense that they become black, Mamba Shura arises.
That is not usual to happen, thought. It is hard to get to this point, since both the other Shuras are very cool-headed. There are, however, some “triggers”, that awaken Mamba almost instantly, such as tickling her feet or armpits.
The biggest problem of Mamba Shura is that she doesn’t control her impulses, destroying whoever gets in her way in a practically indiscriminate way. (She creates lightings –that are also blue, as the flames that burn after they crash - which come from instantaneous universes).
Mamba Shura does not forgive.
The only thing she absolutely would not ever attack indiscriminately are the universes ore the beings inside them. Those, her instincts continue to protect.

About the three of them…

The state of the universes around them is influenced and fed by her feelings in that instant, so that a universe particularly more destructive would gain power when she is angry – especially if it is Mamba Shura, when anger meets burst of fury – just like universes that have other essences feed in other kinds of feelings, such as joy, melancholy, sadness, satisfaction, bitterness, etc.

Another detail to add is that, since when she is asleep there is no dominant personality, her hairs contain only stars scattered around.

Relecture of an Image...

In "Light and Collor Theory" class, the teacher asked for a relecture of an image, made by us in collor pencils. We were suposed to choose a piece of any cartoon, comics image, and then draw it in a larger scale.

Here is the image I chose:
It belongs to the first volume of the definitive edition of "Sandman"

And here is my relecture of it...
As I said, it was made with collor pencils in paper

Modeling...

Now I present to you my clay models!

Have in mind that, if you intend to bake the clay (so it will last a loooong time), it can never be a massive, solid object. At high temperatures, a massive clay object would explode. So, in order to bake it, you have to make it hollow in the inside.
Every structure we've made are hollow (as you can see since they didn't explode ^^')

This was the first atemptive in taming clay...
We had to do something using only thin clay cilinders, atached to each other.
A friend fondly called it the "poo castle"

The rose was made using only plates of clay.
This is the rose before baking

And those are images of it after baking.

Those were made in "free" modeling. It didn't had to involve any tecniques (such as cilinders or layers)

The dragon was the final task: Using cilinders, plaques and free style. The tale, arms and legs were made with clilinders, and the eyes, wings, belly, with plaques. The body and head, free.

ps: I didnt know if I should or shouldn't put my parner's name, Barbara, since, being honest, we didn't do everything together... The castel we did do together, but the witch is her's, while the princess, the rose and the dragon are mine.

Drawing class...

It's been a real while since I've last posted anything, so now I have a lot of stuff waiting to be here...

So I'll begin with an exercise we made in drawing class. The teacher gave each person a piece of paper, so we would have to draw its image in a much bigger scale. Each 6 pieces, when together, made one image. At the end, we had to put the pieces that we had made toghether and see if it mached, proportionally speaking.

That was the result. The original image was about 20x15cm, and the one we drawed, about the size of an A3 paper sheet. (So each drawing was about 6 times bigger than the original)

And this was my piece of the image...

There are many other drawings form the drawing class, but I'll wait until the teacher give them back so I can take their pictures!

Easter and Coca-cola

We were suposed to, in groups of five (wich, in our case, was composed by me, Denise, Júlia, Hélen and Giuliano), present something that related Easter to Coca-cola...
It could be some kind of new product, advertisement... It was up to us to decide.

This is what we've done:

. There was no much time to do it, so it would be better, but I like it anyway...

"my Brand"

I was asked to do a "brand" that would represent my self, after someone else's opinion and impressions of me. Since I was described as a "dreamer, kind of inocent, someone who hadn't yet lost that magic that almolst everyone looses once they get older..." and, as I am usually described, "a weird person, kind of crazy..."
.
Well... crazy , weird, "dreamer" (especially dreamer),  and howling wolves are very much alike!
AND since I am, at least by name, a wolf, so that the blogs whole theme is after all a howling wolf...

Theeen... that's what I came up with...

This is the first style: BASIC
And again, "La Loba" would mean the wolf -or, better, the female wolf -, in spanish... (it sounds better then "A Loba", wich is portuguese, for this porpouse)

 Second Style: COLLORS
I painted with aquarella pencils - I'm kind of knew in that, but already love it...

Each style can be used in diferent circunstances, so I chose them both!

The "Bread with Egg" video

This is the video we freshmans of the Design course in the
UFSC university, have made for the "freshman's games"...
(The veterans made this competition between the freshmans,
and one of the things we had to do were a video with
a bread with egg recipy...)
Me and Denise, another freshmanhave edited this one...
Well, as silly as it might be... with this video - and another one,
and other stuff everyone have made, like drawing the veterans...

...WE WON!!!!

Some older drawings...

Here I present to you some of the drawings I did so far... Each one of them represent a character of my own creation, wich you will know more intimately as soon as I publicate the books I'm writing! I wont name them for you cause I am too jealouss of them, sorry!
